Frequently asked questions...

What happens in the first session?

We’ll get to know each other, discuss what brings you to therapy and explore what you’d like to achieve. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether I’m the right therapist for you. We’ll take things at your pace.

How often will we meet?

Sessions are usually weekly, giving us consistency and space to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. We can discuss what works best for you and your circumstances.

How long does therapy last?

There’s no set length of time. Everyone’s needs and goals are different. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others choose to continue for longer. We’ll regularly review how things are going and what feels right for you.

What type of therapy do you offer?

I’m an integrative therapist, trained in Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA). This means I can draw on different approaches and adapt the way we work together to suit you, your needs and your goals.

Is everything I say kept confidential?

Yes. What you share with me is treated as confidential and discussed within professional and ethical boundaries. There are some legal and safeguarding exceptions to confidentiality, which I will explain to you when we begin working together.

Can I stop therapy at any time?

Yes. Therapy is your choice, and you can decide to stop at any time. Ideally, we’ll have a conversation about ending our work together so that we can bring the therapeutic relationship to a safe and meaningful close.
